On 11th of January 2010, Investment Group "Planet Capital" has become a listing partner of the Vienna Stock Exchange (Wiener Börse) by signing an agreement in Vienna. Henceforth, in the person of Planet Capital Russian companies will have an adviser who is familiar with the requirements of Vienna Stock Exchange, who will accompany them all the way from the decision to place their shares until the start of trading on the exchange.
Signing of this agreement by Planet Capital allows Russian companies interested in IPO on foreign exchanges to make the process of public offering on Vienna Stock Exchange more understandable and effective. With help of experts from Planet Capital and Vienna Stock Exchange interested companies will be able to explore and test a wide range of advanced investment tools and to get access to European capital markets.
As the largest and most advanced stock exchange in Central and Eastern Europe, Vienna Stock Exchange is particularly interested in strengthening the financial market in CEE countries and is the link between the markets of CEE and Western Europe for companies and investors: it has a strong position in both markets.
For Russian companies access to the Vienna Stock Exchange is one more way to attract funds. It is less expensive and simpler than entering London, New York or Frankfurt Stock Exchange. At the same time, Vienna Stock Exchange provides the most modern infrastructure through internationally recognized electronic trading system Xetra and OMex, information for securities trading and access to international investors.
The choice of financial center is extremely important for the company decided to attract investments. Austria is one of the most successful countries of "old" European community, and Vienna as a financial center is able to offer effective support to entrepreneurs and investors. Austria is also a leading investor in Central and Eastern Europe, and Austrian investors show considerable interest in Russia. 90 investment banks are direct participants of trading in Vienna, among them are international investment banks, such as Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, HSBC, JP Morgan, Société Générale, Merill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS. The interest of international investors provides additional liquidity to the Austrian market.
Vienna Stock Exchange is a part of CEE Stock Exchange Group, along with the stock exchanges in Prague, Budapest and Ljubljana. The Group is the leading player in Central and Eastern Europe which has a half of the total market capitalization in the CEE and two-thirds of total equity turnover in the CEE. 14.6% of the issuers placed in the Vienna Stock Exchange are foreign companies.
According to investigation of Deloitte, carried out in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan in December 2007, the important criteria for companies when choosing a stock exchange for listing are high level of liquidity, availability of international investors, speed of the listing process and relatively small costs for IPO. Vienna Stock Exchange meets all the above mentioned criteria, and also provides a wide range of consulting services for issuers, has a competence in Central and Eastern Europe, demonstrates the growth of IPO indices, provides overview information.
A major success factor when going a company public is the selection of a competent team. The listing partners of Vienna Stock Exchange are selected capital market specialists such as investment banks, auditors and lawyers that support companies throughout the IPO process. One of the requirements for the authorization to act as a listing partner is proof of relevant expert know-how, practical experience and qualified team.
Planet Capital is an independent Russian investment group, founded in 1992.
